We will be celebrating World Book Day when we are back at school – I will let your parents/carers know the date.

Can you please write a description of the character you will be dressing up as for our World Book Day celebrations and I will try to guess which character you are going to be from your description.

School closed until at least Monday.

March 5th, 2020

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work with Public Health England to ensure minimum risk to our school community following confirmation of a case of COVID-19 at our school. Public Health England have now assessed and advised all those who have had close contact with the individual.
If you have not been directly contacted by Public Health England, this is because your child has been considered low risk.
The school will remain closed until at least Friday for the cleaning to take place. We will update you on arrangements for next week by the end of Friday.
Teachers have been busy preparing work for the children via Google Classroom. There are lots of interesting and engaging activities for them to complete so please do encourage them to log in.
Once again, I would like to thank you for your support and continued respect of those concerned.

Update 5th March

March 5th, 2020

Public Health England have carried out a detailed risk assessment. If you haven’t been directly contacted by them, they don’t consider you to have had significant contact with the case. As such, you can carry on as usual and there is no need for you to self-isolate. There will be a further letter coming out soon to reconfirm the advice given. Thank you all for your patience and support.

School remains closed 5th March

March 4th, 2020

I can confirm that an individual at the school has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently getting all necessary support and advice from health services.

Whilst I fully understand this will cause anxiety amongst the school community, I can assure you all necessary steps are being taken to minimise risk to others. The school is making arrangements for a deep clean with advice from Public Health England and will remain closed for this to be carried out.

All people who have had contact with the person are being identified and will be contacted by PHE, who will advise whether any testing is required.

The best thing we can all do is to make sure we follow the public health advice which is to:

*   Catch coughs and sneezes with a tissue, dispose of the tissue in a bin   immediately and then wash your hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer

*   Wash your hands with soap and water (or use hand sanitizer) frequently and especially on arrival and before leaving home or any childcare or educational setting, before cooking and eating, after using the toilet, and after breaks or sporting activities.

I will update you when I have further information to give.

You can keep up to date with national advice and information regarding coronavirus by visiting https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

Please continue to respect the privacy of the pupils and staff.
