Our School As A Catholic Community

Our Mission

Learn to love; love to learn

Our Mission is to provide a Catholic education based on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, in which the values of the Gospel underpin all aspects of school life. We insist on the highest standards of academic achievement so that our young people leave us as ‘agents of change’ – educated and caring people who have the qualifications, knowledge and skills they need to flourish as human beings and make the world a better place. We are committed to our mission and to raising standards in order to provide an excellent Catholic education for every child in our care. We work together as one Trust, one family of schools, a community inspired by a vision for excellence.

We aim to deliver our mission by:

Promoting our Core Gospel Values which underpin all aspects of school life

Promoting stewardship enabling our children to develop an understanding of the wider world and their role as global citizens

Providing opportunities for our children to be agents of change and to make a positive difference to the world in which they live

Balancing academic success with wider attributes & provides for learners broader development enabling them to develop and discover their interests and talents

Promoting our Learning Values – resilience, responsibility, independence, creativity & collaboration

Supporting our children to develop their character and help them to keep physically and mentally healthy

Placing an uncompromising focus on the development and application of reading, writing and mathematics skills

Playing a major role in developing our children’s love and passion for learning

Celebrating equity and diversity supporting the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development

Developing children as leaders by valuing children’s voices and individual contributions and offering a range of opportunities to develop their leadership skills
In the summer term 2020 staff at school were missing the children so much we thought we would create a little something to cheer everyone up whilst they were all learning at home. We had great fun making this and hope you enjoy it – St Margaret Clitherow Primary School’s – My Lighthouse.

and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit.

you’re with me night and day.
I want to love you always
in all I do and say.
I'll try to please you, Father,
bless me through the day.

Grace Before Meals

Bless us, O God, as we sit together.
Bless the food we eat today.
Bless the hands that made the food.

Bless us, O God.

Grace After Meals
Thank you, God, for the food we have eaten.
Thank you, God, for all our friends.
Thank you, God, for everything,
Thank you God.

Prayer at the end of the day

O My God I come to say
thank you for your love today.
Thank you for my family
and all the friends you give to me.
Guard me in the dark of night
and in the morning, send your light.

We also say the special prayer to Mary and the Our Father

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is
the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now, and at the hour of our death.

Our Father

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be
Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done,
on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us
not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Our school GIFT (growing in faith together) team have been hard at work since they applied and were appointed to their positions. We came together and discussed various ideas as to how we could grow the faith in our school and community, creating an action plan for the next term. First on their list was to honour our mothers in some way as Mothering Sunday was approaching, they created flower posies and held a special celebration assembly, which was beautiful. Their second action was to create a prayer station outside the hall for all to access. The prayer station will be updated each month with a different theme, the children decided that this first month our prayers should go to the people of the Ukraine.
